Keeping a daily blog is harder that I thought!
Again, I apologize to the readers that have been visiting this site for failing on my commitment to blog daily. I am changing the blogging frequency to be more flexible. Sometimes, I will blog about 1 or 2 babes at the same time. I hope doing this will allow me to enjoy the blogging ritual more, rather than feeling stressed about missing days.
If you can believe it, I am also contemplating on expanding the number of blogging pages/subjects that I'll maintain. I hope to build a network of blogs on a variety of subjects that I will occasionally and frequent post content. Just not on a strict daily basis!

Jacqueline Wu (吳倩蓮)
I wanted to profile Jacqueline Wu today, but when I tried to research more on her bio, I realized it was next to impossible to get decent information on the internet about her. On one hand, I'm happy - Jacqueline has long been on my list since I first saw her in Chinese movies, and this proves that she is a hidden gem. On the other hand, I had hoped to introduce the world to more of her history as I am limited in the historical facts contained within me. Despite all this, I will forge on because Jacqueline deserves it!
North American afficianados of Asian film will remember Jacqueline best from her 1994 role in Ang Lee's film 'Eat, Drink, Man, Woman'. However Jacqueline has been a versatile actress starting in 1990, working in both the Taiwanese and Hong Kong film industries. Her best traits are when she conveys emotions and the character's plight through the somber look and subtle expressions of her eyes.
Jacqueline was born in Taiwan in 1968. She graduated from the Taiwan School of Arts and majored in theater. She often participated in school dramas during her school years, and also worked as model for magazines and television advertisements. In 1990, Wu was cast in her first Hong Kong film A Moment of Romance, and was immediately nominated in the Best Newcomer category by the Hong Kong Film Awards for this performance. She has appeared in numerous Hong Kong films since then, and was awarded Best Actress by the Hong Kong Film Critics Society for her role in Ann Hui's Eighteen Springs in 1998.
One look at Jacqueline and she will become the most unforgettable thing in the movie. Particularly worthy of praise and the most often spoken about quality is her 'face'. It sounds superficial, but many movie-goers may not know her well enough by name but will often remember the face. The knock on Jacqueline is that even though she has starred in many movies, the majority of roles were utilized to complement other big name stars. Seldom will the movies be focused on Jacqueline. That is why I would recommend people who want to see what she is about to watch 'Eat Drink Man Woman' if they have not already done so.
It's interesting to note that the name 'Jacqueline' was actually bestowed to her by internet sites and her film companies. Jaqueline herself never claims to go by the english name, and like most Taiwanese (as it's a dirty secret that local Taiwanese do not like to conversate in english) prefers to be called her by her Chinese name, or Chinese nickname "Ah Lian".
Admittedly, the pictures displayed for this entry are merely headshots. I have not taken the time to do some movie screencaptures, but when I do so. I will update this entry. If you are an admirer of Jacqueline and have discussions or pictures to share, please do!

Stacy Keibler
Stacy's wrestling entertainment career began when she won the now-defunct WCW's Nitro Girl search in 1999. Her popularity steadily rose through her WCW stint under the monicker of Ms. Hancock. Her future was place in brief doubt when WWE bought out WCW. Stacy was not to be kept down, she had many memorable roles and the storyline that broke her out was when she was casted to be WWE owner Vince McMahon's "personal assistant".
Stacy is a slender, leggy 5' 11" blond bombshell. Walking out in classy fashion with shoulder length hair and armed with a million dollar smile, no men can rationally resist her charm. Her famous bend-over entrace over the top rope still remains one of my favourite ring entracnes of all time. Being both athletic and beautiful, she's a knock-out in every sense of the word in the wrestling ring!
Now you may wonder why I'm not holding a tighter standard when declaring Stacy a babe. There really is no defense on my part. Of all the divas in the WWE, she simply has that 'it' quality, that 'je ne se quois' aspect to her that sets her apart from the rest of the field. Besides being an accomplished dancer and model, she is also an ex-cheerleader for the NFL Baltimore Ravens. Stacy lives for her fans and is not just the best eye candy, but also a consumate performer doing whatever it takes in the ring.
Say what you may, I am very comfortable with the induction of Stacy Keibler into Babe Theory. She also has the distinction to be the only WWE diva to appear on my babe list. Stacy, Stacy, Stacy! The man you marry will be so lucky! If you're reading, forgive a babe lover's non-sensical ramblings. I know you will continue to dazzle and delight, tantalize and tease all the wrestling fans out there!

Jodie Foster
By the way, I simply adore her voice! That scratchy, everlasting adolescent-breaking sounding voice is simply adorable! But I've bored you so many times about voices that I will skip most of it and get on with the real story!
I could not imagine what my childhood would be if I had to grow up in Hollywood like Jodie. Born into celebrity, she was already the copptertone girl (the little girl whose underwear is being pulled off by a dog) by the age of 3! Her beauty is matched more impressively by her intelligence. Growing up, she was always considered to be "wise beyond her years". As a child actor, she was incredibly mature and professional; opening many doors for the young Jodie.
Who could resist a babe who graduated from a French language high school; as class valedictorian no less!! Oh la la! Jodie is also a Yale alumni, having graduated with an Honors degree in English literature. In the school of life, Jodie graduated from child star to teen starlet to adult superstar without much of the controversy that usually beseech child celebrities.
Most movie fans know Jodie from her very famous roles in The Accused, Taxi Driver, The Silence Of The Lambs, Contact and Anna & the King. Her most famous role is undoubtedly as Clarice Starling, Doctor Hannibal Lector's foil, in The Silence Of The Lambs; for which she would win her second Academy award (the first being in The Accused). Jodie did not want to be pigeon-holed as a certain type of actress. She consistently sought out a wide range of characters to fill out her talented space. She chose projects based on interest, story, characters rather than what will be a media sensation. For example, she refused to reprise her role in Hannibal, the sequeal to the Silence Of The Lambs, on the basis that she felt the character's role was compromised in the new scripts. Being an actress of artistic integrity means that whenever the name of Jodie Foster is attached to a project, people take notice! As do I.
Jodie's body of work is graciously recognized by her fans and critics. The first woman to ever win 2 Academy awards before the age of 30, leaves Jodie in a class by herself. Speaking of class, there is no better example of how to be level-headed in the tinseltown world of glamour and glitz than Miss Foster. Being a very private individual, she is seldom the subject of any scandals or paparazzi attention. Her appeal is purely motivated by her talent, works and her beauty.
Ever the consumate artist, Jodie was not content in being the vision of great movies, she wanted to be part of the creation of the vision. Jodie is in the rare distinctitive company of great actors who have made the successful leap to producer and director. Although her created works have not been in the spotlights, they none-the-less showcase the deep passion that Jodie has for her work. Too many celebrities now a days treat their vocation as simply a job. To make an analogy, I would dare compare Jodie Foster's career till present, and into the future, to be reminiscient of the great Clint Eastwood.
So let's see, beauty, brains, talented, artistic, classy and without any hollywood ego. I think you will finally agree with me that one of Hollywood's most powerful ladies is much overdue for a Babe award! (Hey, I think I just stumbled onto another idea!)

Alicia Keys
Some singers get manufactured, others get mentored and guided by producers. Alicia has been able to "write her own check" and determine her direction since the beginning of her career. I regard myself as a contrarian - someone who doesn't always like to go with the crowd or public opinion and I truly relate to, and appreciate a person with Alicia's character and personality. While other R&B singers were making a name for themselves, singing about partying, material objects, and selling sex appeal, Alicia was doing her own thing. She played her panio, she wrote her songs, she dictated how and when she wanted to take R&B to that next level.
Since being introduced to the piano at the tender age of 7, Alicia has been on a journey filled with hard work and perseverance to sharpen her craft. Her music is intelligent in its content. She showcases her creativity in her music, blending blues, jazz, soul and R&B into a genre all its own that is enjoyed by both mainstream media and music aficianados. In my opinion, any woman who digs and gets the blues is already an automatic babe!
Her beauty can only be described as silky smooth, and unparalleled. There are simply too many photos out there of her, all looking gorgeous, classy, sultry and still remaining a strong confident woman. Picking a few of them to display on Babe Theory was not easy task as Babe Theory not only strive to convey our theories through words but also through our layout and pictures.
Growing up on 42nd street in New York means that Alicia is naturally a tough determined girl. Music was her escape from the troubles of the street. A word that's constantly used to describe Miss Keys is that she is as 'real' as they get. Down to earth and very humble, Alicia is not afraid to speak her mind, she doesn't sugar coat over tough topics but is gifted with the sense to know what is truly important.
Signing with Clive Davis when she was 19 started Alicia on her way to mega-stardom. She started doing gigs, appearing in shows like BET as the next thing. When her single 'Fallin' dropped, it confirmed that Alicia has truly arrived. On the strength of 'Fallin', Alicia became a household name, but as the album 'Song In A Minor' was released, it was clear that she would be no one hit wonder. The album bucked the trends of that time and paved the way for more people to listen to other soul singers like Angie Stone, India Arie, and Erykah Badu .
Musically she entertains with a soulful semi-deep voice that retains much of her femininty. Her lyrics are poignant and skillful and describing her message. Alicia is very melodic in her compositions. She draws inspirations from many artists and genres. I really cannot call a favourite song because I enjoy listening to the albums from start to finish - my preferred way of enjoying an Alicia Keys moment. She also likes to cover songs, in her concerts and has covered Prince's 'How Come You Don't Call Me' on her album. Alicia probably made the song more of a hit than it ever did. Admittedly, my favourite version of the song is still Stephanie Mill's cover because or her extraordinary vocal depth in that song.
Another thing that I find unique when I was writing this blog entry about Alicia, I found some of the most beautifully designed fan sites out there for any celebrity. This speaks much to Alicia's credit, as her fans are really just as talented, dedicated and creative as is Alicia.
I'm eagerly anticipating the third album. Her singles and guest appearances in other people's songs have been teasingly showing us that Miss Keys has much more in store. Miss Keys is truly worthy of a top caliber babe mention!

Babe Theory Is Coming Back!
But watch for a post tonight! Babe Theory will be restarted September 6th, 2005 and better than ever!

Why Babe Theory Was Started
Of course, I could have gone the easy way and introduce nudity, and other traffic driving content. But I chose to stay true to what I feel about this subject and blog about it. Admittedly, the last couple of days have been hectic and it'll be so all weekend due to the many events I will have to attend. One wedding, meeting up with friends that are visiting, and also other friends whom I promised to spend time with.
So, unfortunately this weekend will be used to allow me to re-compose, re-focus, but rest assured that I will be back, and restart the content, refocus on bringing exposure to the site and delivering the best babe theories you've ever seen!

Request to readers!
I would like your recommendation of babes. Is it because I'm running out of names on my list? No, there are still quite a lot of the list that haven't been explored. But one thing I noticed is that there tends to be a few ethnic races I'm neglecting. Not because I have any bias towards them, but I am simply not exposed or knowledgable about that population. Therefore I don't know too many that can fit the babe qualities.
I would also like to make this site more interactive! So I'm looking for suggestions of babes for me to research and add to my list. I'm looking for babes of these origins:
- Indian
- Brazilian
- South-East Asian (Malaysian, Philipines)
- Australian
- Polynesian
- Middle-Eastern / Egyptian

Famke Janssen
Famke means 'little girl in Frisian (a Dutch dialect), and ironically, she is anything but little. Standing at a statuesque 5' 11'', a naturally beautiful young woman earned money through modeling gigs. She drew much attention for her beauty and moved to New York for more exposure. Her modeling career took off, and she was in high demand She was even once a Maybeline girl.
Famke is not just a looker, this lady has smarts; having studied at Columbia University, majoring in Literature and Creative Writing. While studying at Columbia, she tried acting classes and was instantly hooked onto the thrill of performing.
After graduation, Famke decided to move to Los Angeles to give acting a serious shot. She starred in a couple forgettable movie before making her break on the Star Trek guest spot. The role was quite memorable, more so in hindsight than it was at the time. Famke's metamorph tantalizes the crew of the Enterprise, captained by Patrick Stewart. Almost a decade later, she tantalized him again in X-Men. This time gifted with powers of telepathy and telekinesis as Jean Grey, his star student.
Famke began getting more minor roles in movies. But it was another actress milestone that propelled her to a serious Hollywood name. She was as the first Bond Girl of the newly rejuvenated Bond franchise in Goldeneye. Famke played Xenia Onatopp, the villainous assassin who crushes her victims to death with her thighs (ahem… only in Bond films!) But being a Bond girl is being among prestigous company.
Goldeneye brought Famke to everyone’s attention. but Janssen was wary - she was smart enough to realize that she was at a pivotal moment in her career. She could continue in the same vein and play up her sexuality and dark appeal, or she could try to branch out in other directions. She did not want to be typecast as only a sex object on screen and began taking on roles in a variety of independent films and smaller productions, most notably Woody Allen’s Celebrity, Rounders opposite Matt Damon (another of my favourite movies) and The Adventures of Sebastian Cole. This savvy starlet has also always been sure to maintain her mainstream recognition, with roles in films like The Faculty, House on Haunted Hill, X-Men, Made and most recently Don't Say a Word.
Being multi-talented, she also is multi-lingual, speaking four languages; Dutch, German, English and French. Perhaps Famke really is a metamorph! *Sigh* One can only hope. Famke has captured me right from the start with her beauty, her distinct soft voice and accent, her penetrating gaze. Later she enthralled me further with her attitude, sensibility, class and sensuality. Her performance on screen has never been dissappointed me, however I have yet to see her in a truly riveting leading role.Google Images: Famke Janssen

Maggie Cheung (張曼玉)
Maggie Cheung is well known the world over as a superior actress. Her many appearances in award winning films at international film festivals everywhere have established her as the premier Chinese actress. Maggie has often been the muse of Hong Kong director Wong Kar Wai and has participated in many of his projects. North American film lovers will remember her role in the 2002 Academy nominated period film, Hero, starring other superstars such as Jet Li, Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi.
In Hong Kong and the Asian countries, Maggie is adored, respected and sought after. The western world have generally regarded her as an idol worthy of cult following and fanaticism. Many of her supporters label her as "the most beautiful woman in the world", and no one can really dismiss that claim easily.
Born in Hong Kong, Maggie received her education in England; which later allowed her to cross over to international films easily as she is often approached by foreign directors for their projects. Returning to Hong Kong, Maggie felt alienated by a strange culture that she did not grow up in, but such obstacles are nothing for a person with her character and fortitude. Like so many Hong Kong idols, she got her start participanting in the 1983 Miss Hong Kong pagent. Early in her career, she was typecasted as the simple, innocent girl type, and joined many forgettable comedies. She caught a break acting in the same capacity as Jackie Chan's girlfriend in 'Police Story' - a role that she would re-enact twice more in future films.
Comedy movies become an after thought shortly. Maggie was receiving serious roles in dramatic films. She was not afraid to experiment with daring projects. She gained international recognition with the 1996 film, Irma Vep. Maggie fell in love with France during her shooting there. France would resemble a second home to Maggie's Hong Kong.
Maggie has more acting talent packed in her little finger than many so called stars out there. Watching her stoic expresses, portraying hurt and pain beyond the depths of the characters heart. That vulnerable look while she is magnificiently displayed in a Chinese robe (she looks absolutely gorgeous in those robes), and you will see that one tiny movement in her facial expressions showcases more to the audience with that amazing imagery. She credits her skill to having graduated from "the school of hard knocks"; learning acting by acting and acting in many, many movies.
If you have not yet discover the wonderful world of Maggie Cheung, I'd recommend the following movies to dip right in like a warm bath. Besides the already mentioned films, I'd recommend Wong Kar-Wai's 'In The Mood For Love', '2046', 'Days Of Being Wild', and 'Ashes Of Time' for starters.
I also want to highlight her incredible on-screen chemistry with my favourite Chinese actor, Tony Leung. The duo have collaborated on many films and turned out spectacular performances each time! One of my all time favourites duo performance can be enjoyed with 'In The Mood For Love'.
Overall, Maggie Cheung is the embodiement of the total babe package. I hope that more people will discover and appreciate her contributions. This is what Babe Theory is all about!

Salma Hayek
Salma started humbly in theatre productions, commercials and Mexican daytime soap series. She was quickly embraced by the Mexican audience but decided to persue a bigger market; moving to California. She broke out in terrific fashion in her debut, 'Desperado', with a sizzling sexy performance. More minor roles came for Selma but it was that unforgettable snake dance scene that she performed in Tarantino's 'From Dusk 'Till Dawn' that cemented her iconic sex symbol status. That image is forever burnt into my mind as well as many others!
Salma got her first leading role starring opposite Matthew Perry in the romantic comedy, 'Fools Rush In', which by the way is one of my favourtie movies in that genre. She didn't have to venture far from her hispanic roots as she displayed all the essential qualities a latina babe would have to possess. One look at the movie and I think you will agree with me about those qualities. Other notable movies where I've seen Salma are 'Wild Wild West' (a commercial decision but one that wasted her talents), and Kevin Smith's 'Dogma'. She can be my heavenly muse anytime!
Salma is a dedicated actress who put her heart into her craft. oen simple has to enjoy her inspiring performance in 'Frida' to realize she cares more about the movie than keeping up her sex icon image. In this day and age where stars pick and choose the roles that will keep them in the limelight, Selma shows that she's too much of a babe for all that nonsense. You couldn't keep Selma down even if you want to, perhaps a tribute to her red-blooded latino heritage!
Being young and beautiful, Salma is a well-known party fanatic in the hollywood scene. The girl knows how to have fun, but she does it with class! The paparazzi, who are constantly on the prowl for the next party related scandal, has really not had the button on Salma. Although, I'm not so certain about partying celebrities (as you rarely see them mentioned on Babe Theory), I submit that her maturity puts her in a much higher category.
Salma never forgets her root, and has returned to Mexico for various projects. Salma has always been a major supporter of the artistic community in Mexico. She has been decorated with awards for her acting talent. She has an impeccable sense of style and has been named one of the best dressed by People magazine. She went out briefly with Ed Norton, another favourite actor of mine, but unfortunately (or fortunately) parted ways recently.
Here's a story about Salma that should convince you of her babe worthiness. Salma has told how she was kidnapped at gunpoint and held for ransom - and loved it; she said "They put a gun to my head and I said, kill me. I believe in reincaranation. I'll just come back". Do you see what I mean now? What a dynamite babe!

Jessica Biel
Admittedly, I am not a fan of 7th Heaven, but this bodacious babe did not escape the radar of men's magazine. Thank goodness, because I haven't stopped loving her style and attitude ever since! Jessica makes even a flight suit look sexy! I like my babes to be tough and be able to fend for themselves, but they should still retain their feminine self. Does that sound like someone familar?
I first saw Jessica on screen during her 2001 movie, "Summer Catch", playing Freddie Prinze Jr.'s love interest. A poorly rated movie at best by the critics, but I watched her simply for Jessica. She was devine as the tom-boyish Tenley, and I was oh so jealous during her pool scene! Who could forget her in that red bikini! Again, she looked oh so delectably prancing around in her lingerine in 2002's "The Rules Of Attraction", a satirical look at college life.
Jessica is never shy about her body and sexuality. She's even posed topless for Gear magazine! She proves herself worthy of action films through her work in Blade Trinity and Stealth, and I look forward to seeing her in more men oriented action films. Jessica is certainly a welcome change of role, playing a kick butt babe in such films, rather than a damsel in distress (although she kinda was one in Stealth). I saw a picture/rendition on the net, of what Jessica would like like in a remake of WonderWoman, all I have to do is Yowza. I hope they do start a production and cast her in the role, despite all the other celebrities in line.
The goddess babe has descended. We're not worthy, but we still hope for more from JB. She's already making a name for herself, but with her energy, this babe will make that becaon shine even brighter among the hollywood lights!
