Zeng Li (曾黎)

This is one of those spur of the moment, inspired babe postings. But if you'd like to indulge my delusions of having a babe radar, you may like my latest offering. Zeng Li may not be a household name from the western world. But those who have watch Chinese serial drama, and the her latest movie LiFaShi 《理发师》(aka The Music Box) will agree that they would like to see more this babe.

"The Music Box" was famous Chinese director, Chen YiFei's (陈逸飞) last movie, as he past away just weeks before the scheduled shooting's end. I was certainly glad to have watched this movie as I'd otherwise not have discovered Zeng Li. I've seen my share of Chinese actresses and not many of them can capture my attention. Most of them fall into extreme categories in appearance and personality, too cute.. or too whorish.

But Zeng Li's beauty is very classic, subtle and also refreshing to the eyes. You won't tire from her subtle smile, her modelesque visage, her silent demure and her tall (170cm, tall by Chinese standards) slender figure. I especially love her "puffy" captivating eyes since they remind me of someone familiar (don't ask who!). Some have described her beauty as those of a high school or University girl that you've always admired from afar.

Usually by now, I'd elaborate more on Zeng Li's biographical and babe credentials as I have done in the past. But since I only discovered her recently, plus the fact there isn't much to be found on the web on Zeng Li, I'll have to forgo the usual rants of why she is a babe. But I know you'll agree that she have every bit I'm looking for in a babe. She is strong (casted in army roles), beautiful and elegant. I also discovered that she was also born in 1978, only a few days ahead of me. (Maybe I'm still daydreaming... and what's the matter with me and older women?)

By the way, since you like reading blogs, you'd be happy to know that Zeng Li writes her own personal blog at Sina. I can only hope that this picture doesn't mean that Zeng Li is getting married soon. The groom would be the luckiest person in the world. But for now, can I still hold onto my daydreams of her?

Sharon Stone

This post isn't by any means a prelude to a come-back here at Babe Theory, but you never know! I had the urge to check my archives after watching a Stone Philips Dateline interview (continuation interview online) with one of my favourite babes of all-time. I cannot believe I did not write about Sharon Stone during my short tenure here at Babe Theory! Looking back at my list, her name was not crossed off simply because I had not gotten to it. Don't let this take away from our magnificient movie muse!

Sharon talked candidly about her career, her step back from the lime-light, about how motherhood changed her and also her triumphant return. Her new movie Basic Instinct II: Risk Addiction will be out in theatres at the end of March. She re-hashes the role of Catherine Trammell; the role that launched her stardom beyond the stratosphere. Go watch the movie! And Sharon has hyped up the first 4 minutes so don't be late!

Now, most actresses who depend on the sexual impact of their roles do not last long, but how was Sharon different? She exuded a class of sophistication - a sultriness combined with an indescribable devilish instinct which makes her portrayal of character vulnerabilities and insecurities seemed so primal in attraction! Those qualities really shone through in movies like Basic Instinct, Sliver, The Specialist, The Quick & The Dead, Casino, and Gloria.

Sharon is the standard by which I measure all the blond babes that I encounter. Her's is the most natural of beauties. Sharon has always declared that she has not undertook any plastic/comsetic surgeries. She is deservingly the spokeswoman of Christian Dior's skin-care product.

Sharon is also a spokewoman for other more worthy causes and have been recognized. She received a humanitarian award from the Human Rights Campaign for her efforts and work as gay rights activist. One particular memorable incident came during the 2005 World Economic Forum. At the end of the debate on 'funding the war on poverty', Sharon stood up and pledged 10,000 dollars and asked people to follow her. Already, within a few minutes they raised nearly 100,000 dollars - she wanted to raise at least one million. She raised her goal of one million dollars in 5 minutes to help fight tuberculosis and malaria in Tanzania.

"Just stand up. Just stand up. People are dying in his country today," she said. "And that is not OK with me today."

Sharon certainly doesn't mince words. She is unpretentious, poignant and knows what her fans expect from her. She is never short of confidence, and who wouldn't love a babe who is sure of herself, her place in the universe and has a quote to her credit such as "Any man in Hollywood will meet me if I want that. No, make that any man anywhere." It thoroughly drives me nuts like a fish staring at a baited hook!

Speaking of availability, Sharon discloses that since her divorce from ex-husband Phil Bronstein, that she is ready for love, but is not desperately seeking it. Sheeh, that hook and bait keeps getting bigger and more delicious! Also, Sharon is supposed to have a new movie called Cougars coming out this year. If you don't know, Cougar is usually expressed for wealthy single females in 40s, inclined toward the charms of men much younger to them. Sharon, if you ever see this... I'm hoping to be that guy who tames the cougar!

So let's see, beauty both outer and inner. An attitude that kicks butt, a passionate person who doesn't fade, a mother who's all about her children, a woman who looks gorgeous with long and short hair, an outlook on life that is unmatched... all combined together makes for the perfect babe!
